Eligibility:
To participate in the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair, students must meet specific eligibility criteria. Firstly, participants must be enrolled in a school within the Quinte area, which also extends to include those who are homeschooled. Additionally, eligible students should be in grades 4 through 12, ensuring a diverse range of projects and ideas from various educational levels. It is also imperative that all participants adhere to established ethics and safety guidelines throughout the fair, promoting a safe and respectful environment for all involved. Consent/Permission/Forms:
Parents are required to complete a permission form to allow their children to participate in the QRSTF.
It is essential for students to ensure that all their projects adhere strictly to the established safety and ethical guidelines.
Furthermore, it is important to understand that the Science Fair Committee, along with its sponsors and other supporters, cannot be held liable for any loss or damage that may occur to any display or exhibit. The responsibility for the care and proper operation of each display or exhibit rests solely with the student or exhibitor. See Ethics page and Registration page Permission Form
Guidelines/Expectations for Parents/Guardians of Students:
The Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair is scheduled to unfold over one Saturday, providing an exciting platform for students to showcase their scientific endeavors. It is imperative that you consult the official Schedule to ensure that your student is present for all mandatory events and judging sessions. Attendance at these key activities is crucial, as they not only contribute to the overall experience but also play a significant role in the evaluation process. Please make the necessary arrangements to facilitate your student's participation, as this event represents a valuable opportunity for learning and growth in the field of science and technology.
QRSTF Code of Conduct:
Finalists are expected to consistently uphold the rights of their fellow participants throughout the event.
It is imperative that all participants adhere to their respective school’s dress code, ensuring that their attire is appropriate for the occasion. - Dress for Success.
Additionally, students are required to demonstrate respect towards their peers by following netiquette guidelines, fostering a positive and inclusive environment when interacting with other students, members of the QRSTF committee, and judges.
Any participant who fails to conduct themselves in a manner deemed appropriate or who violates the established Code of Conduct will face disqualification from the event, thereby losing their opportunity to attend and engage in Science Fair activities. In such cases, the student’s parents or guardians and school will be formally notified of the violation.
